To assess the full biomechanics of the foot, the kinematics (resulting from the dynamic 3D surface scan) need to be combined with the kinetics (resulting from measured force data). Therefore a glass force plate has been integrated into the 3D scanning area in the MOBILAB gait lab, allowing simultaneous registration of 3D surface scans and force data. Furthermore, pressure plates in the walkway can assess the plantar pressure during unroll of the foot.
Pressure distribution Ground reaction forces
The relationship between dynamic 3D surface data, plantar pressure distribution and ground reaction forces during gait will be examined. Such knowledge and experience can be integrated in existing biomechanical measurement equipment.
