Developing a process for the analysis of shapes to characterize human motion by using dynamic 3D surface scanning
APPLODYNSCA is an international research project that runs for two years and is funded by the EraSME(*) financing programme.
The aim of the project is to develop a process and tools for the (semi-)automatic analysis and feature extraction of dynamic 3D surface scans and the exploration of applications in shoe last design, innovative bone movement and multi segment foot models, foot orthotics design and human gait analysis.
The research is performed by the following three research partners:
- MOBILAB, the Multidisciplinary Research Lab for Biomedical and Rehabilitation Technology of Thomas More. MOBILAB is coordinating the APPLODYNSCA project.
- KU Leuven (Department of Mechanical Engineering - Biomechanics division)
- University Clinic Tübingen (UKT) - Department of Sports Medicine
(*) EraSME strives to strengthen the market position of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) by facilitating transnational cooperation with other SMEs and Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs). The national funding organisations are IWT for Flanders (agency for Innovation by Science and Technology) and AiF for Germany (German Federation of Industrial Research Associations).
