Previous research projects in MOBILAB (e.g. OZI project) have shown that in the process of kinematic foot analysis, and in the design of the insoles, some scientific proof is missing. The dynamic effects of orthotics on human gait are not fully understood yet - also due to a limitation in measurement equipment before the age of dynamic 3D scanning.
Insoles
The APPLODYNSCA project will investigate the added value of the use of dynamic 3D scanning for innovative orthotic design. Dynamic 3D scanning will be applied to characterize the behavior and effect of orthotics on human gait and to evaluate the functionality and therapeutic value of such devices.
